Z Axis zeroing probe

 
A very simply way to set your Zero on your spindle to your job.
 
Simply place the probe on your job surface and attach the alligator clip to your endmill.  As long as your CNC controller supports a probe option (GRBL and Mach3 support this) you can lower your Z axis until it touches the surface of the probe. The controller should automatically stop moving the Z axis once the endmill makes contact with the probe and you can make your relevant corrections from there.

Please note: We recommend using a set of vernier calipers to check the thickness of the probe before commencing use.
