Water-cooled spindle cooling kit (Closed system)
Presenting our CNC3D In-house designed and tested closed loop water cooled spindle cooling kit.
We have done extensive tests on this configuration and have made it available in a handy kit!
This kit has been tested on a both 1.5kw and 2.2kw spindles but will most likely suit larger spindles that have 5-6mm coolants barbs on the spindle. The kit typically runs ~3°c warmer than ambient on a 2.2kw spindle
One of the biggest issues with water-cooled spindle setups is the need for typically long piping and if the system feeds into an air exposed reservoir, mould ingress can be huge problem.
This kit features a twin 120mm fan cooled radiator and a reservoir with pump assembly all connected via high quality, purple silicone tubing.
The system is designed to mount quite close to the Z axis but can be mounted where ever you possibly can mount it.
This kit runs on 12VDC for both the fans and main reservoir pump and requires a minimum of 1.5A at 12VDC. If you do not have 12VDC available where you would like to mount it, please choose the option for the DC-DC converter that will reduce 16-60VDC down to 12VDC.
Select the length of piping you require in meters to allow yourself room to install the cooling kit and still be able to feed the coolant to your spindle.
Included with this kit
- 240mm alloy radiator
- 4 x alloy Barb fittings
- 2 x 120mm cooling fans
- 2 x 120mm fan covers
- Resevoir and pump assembly
- Hose clamps for tubing
- Quick connectors for easy power wire distribution
- DC-DC 16-60VDC converter (Optional)
- High grade, kink resistant purple silicone tubing (Select length)
Be aware, this kit is designed for DIY-ers and does not include an installation guide. You will need some creativity in planning how the cooling loop will fit into your machine and where the different parts will mount and connect to each other.
We have done our best to make this kit as universal as possible, as such, some additional parts may be required separately. These can include; 12V power wiring and bracket or fixture holes to mount the kit to, cable ties or extra hose clamps may also be needed to grab the reservoir tube to keep it secure if it is installed on a moving part of the machine like the Z axis.
Please note: this listing does NOT include a spindle!
