I have a SharpCNC machine and was wondering about maintenance. Can anyone tell me what parts should be oiled or greased and what type of oil or grease should be used.
Hi Ron,We don't recommended lubricating the leadscrews at all. Not much maintenance is needed with a standard SharpCNC kit. the best thing to do it check that all your bolts are nice and secure. Grab your Z axis and try rocking it up and down, if there is no play you are fine. if there is, check your leadscrew locking collars. they may be loose. We are covering this in the new QueenBee manual we are working on. It is recommended to follow that maintenance guide once it's released. You can perform this check on your X and Y axes too. try rocking them side to side, if no play, you're OK. I hope this helps!
